I get that you’re very excited about your cabaret reform, Rebecca. And you should be. It’s long overdue and will do a great deal to make life easier for Oakland’s small businesses. It’s ridiculous that a City so excited about the thriving nightlife and entertainment scene insists on torturing nightlife and entertainment business owners with an endless maze of red tape. And it shouldn’t cost thousands of dollars to be allowed to have some hippie sit in your coffee shop with an acoustic guitar and sing. So in conclusion, cabaret reform is a great thing.
But just because you’re talking about bars does not mean you need to dress like you’re going to a bar.
